Welcome to my website and portfolio of some of my paintings.

Brief Bio: Name: Maya Sarada Devi Kearn (Kearn is my married name) Also known by Maya Sarada Devi for my writings in philosophy.

Brief Bio: Born in 1959 in Los Angeles. Studied Painting and Drawing at Art Center College of Design, Pasadena. Wrote Regaining Consciousness in The Western World: Radical Essays on the Human Experience in1990, In Love: Conflict Resolution for Couples in 1992, wrote and illustrated two children’s books not yet published: "The Box Turtle Mystery", and "Gathering Angels". I have a large portfolio of dolls I have made over the years, most of which I have given to friends and family or sold the people who wanted them. But I have not made any dolls in a long time, have not written or illustrated any books in a long time, and choose to focus on painting canvases. My husband and I own and are the innkeepers of The Londonderry Inn in South Londonderry, Vermont. It is a 27 room Bed and Breakfast Inn (we use 5 of the guest rooms as our owner’s quarters). It is there at The Londonderry Inn that I have my art studio, and that we have the space to display my paintings all over the inn. My paintings have been shown all over California, where we used to live, and I was featured as “artist of the year” in The Press Democrat, the main Sonoma County Daily Newspaper (Circulation 250,000). That was exciting, and the one-woman show which ran for six months at Millenium Gallery in Sebastopol was an important time for me. With three teenage children and an inn to run, I find that I paint approximately 20 new paintings a year. Most of them are on canvases 30 x 30 inches (square canvases) or 24 x 30 inches, although I am starting to do some murals now, and interested in learning stained glass, or creating stained glass effects on my paintings. Anyway, here are the paintings I was able to photograph for this website. Many of my paintings have been sold over the years, and are not represented here, but you can get a sense of the style I work in, and the feeling expressed on my canvases.

Thank you visiting my website.
